Senior Financial Planning and Analysis Analyst

Occupation: Accounting/Finance/Insurance Because we’re experiencing record growth, Pacific Biosciences’ is looking to expand its core, talented Finance team by adding an experienced hands on Senior Financial Planning and Analysis Analyst who can be a strong individual contributor not just for the day to day functions, but who can help establish policies, procedures and strong internal controls. In this role, you will support senior leaders in various functional groups and be responsible for financial modeling, forecasting, and developing internal management reports. Our ideal candidate is a well-rounded top performer who can be a key contributor in a high-energy growth environment. The first priority for this position will be to select and implement a budgeting & reporting software package to support the growth of the company. The person must have experience as the budget administrator. This person must have experience designing and implementing a corporate budgeting models for a high growth company.   Responsibilities include, but not limited to: Budgeting: • Drive the worldwide budgeting and planning process for revenue, expenses, headcount and capital • Work with the sales teams to develop the methodology to forecast revenue • Work with manufacturing teams to develop COGS components • Work with the R&D teams to develop expense assumptions that are aligned with project plans Monthly reporting: • Create monthly reporting packages and work with senior management to define and track key performance metrics. • Provided detailed variance analysis • Manage the worldwide consolidations process with the Accounting Manager Ad-hoc analysis • Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives and help review critical strategic and financial decisions. • Take a leadership role in defining and implementing scalable financial processes to support the growth of the business. • Grant reporting • Costing & inventory management • Work with the R&D team on special projects Position Requirements: • B.S. in Accounting or Finance (MBA a plus). • 5-8 years financial analysis experience • Excellent analytical and modeling skills, in-depth experience with financial statement analysis and a strong understanding of corporate finance concepts • Advanced in Excel applications and strong in other PC applications (PowerPoint, Word) • Solid understanding of US GAAP and reporting processes • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Organized, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task and a team player with a positive attitude and a focus on business issues. • Experience with FRx a big plus • Passionate, energetic, enthusiastic to drive results
