The Senior Manager of Facilities Planning will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of PA regional facility / space plans in support of the Biotechnology, Immunology, and Oncology (BIO) business and other PA based customers. The Senior Manager of Facilities Planning will lead a team of planning professionals to provide facility planning expertise to optimize the PA facility portfolio (2.5MM SF, 4,000 occupants), including analyses of facility investments and divestitures for office, lab, vivaria, process, and other facility types. This individual will build robust relationships with a diverse set of customers to learn, understand, and internalize the BIO business, plans, technologies, and portfolio capabilities and translate them into facility plans. This individual will lead planning teams for the region in all aspects of facility planning, including demand programming and forecasting, adjacency mapping, block and stack planning, investment scenario development to deliver facility plans as a major outcome. The Senior Manager of Facilities Planning will lead innovative workplace programs (both office and technical) through the Workplace and Site Operations (WSO) managed locations. This individual will manage business case development for facility planning related investments and sponsor appropriation requests through the capital governance process. This individual will develop, own, and manage the demand forecasting processes, methodologies, and tools to accommodate growth and change for the BIO franchise and greater PA portfolio customers. This individual will manage the architectural design of projects in a project team setting. Additionally, this individual will manage the process (working with regional project delivery personnel) to translate the short/long term facility plan into capital requirements as an input to the long range, integrated capital planning process. The Senior Manager of Facilities Planning will ensure regional plans are well integrated with the global planning strategy and processes, under the direction of the strategic facility-planning leader. This individual will develop the appropriate tools and processes that should be built under oversight from the global strategic facilities planning lead. A bachelors degree is required, preferably a major in Architecture, Business, Engineering, Life Sciences, or related field. An advanced degree (MBA or MS) is strongly preferred. A minimum of 10 years facility planning, design, and project implementation related business experience is required. Experience in the pharmaceutical industry with an emphasis on technical functions (R&D, vivaria, process facilities, etc.) is preferred. Demonstrated ability to craft facilities plans and innovative workplace solutions is required. This candidate must have broad knowledge of office, laboratory and specialty pharmaceutical facilities. The qualified candidate will have strong analytical and quantitative skills, excellent communication, and presentation skills. This candidate will demonstrate strength in interdependent partnering and team management. This candidate will be a self-starter with ability to work independently with minimal supervision and within a matrix environment. Negotiation and influencing skills, and the ability to effectively manage projects and timelines to meet schedules is required. This individual must have demonstrated ability to think strategically and creatively. Excellent judgment, analytical, decision-making, design and problem solving skills are required. This person will be required to travel up to 25% regionally. This position can be based out of Horsham, Radnor, Spring House or Malvern, PA. Travel to these four sites on a regular basis will be required.
