SENIOR MANAGER, PHARMACOGENETICS, INDUSTRIAL MARKETING

This position is responsible for driving marketing programs and associated campaigns, working closely with the sales, product marketing and marketing communications teams. This addition will define and execute demand-generating marketing programs in concert with commercial business strategy. Will also plan, develop, and implement multiple programs targeted to different stages across the drug R&D pipeline particularly in pharmacogenetics and the use of genetic biomarkers in clinical drug development. This role requires the ability to understand, synthesize and concisely document the unmet customer needs in each segment for the development of market requirements for specific product(s) or product line(s) as appropriate.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

* Build and execute marketing program plans to meet commercial business objectives.
* Work/coordinate with product managers to translate product management marketing plans into actionable, customer-facing marketing campaigns.
* Develop and drive outbound, demand-generating, customer-facing marketing programs to key market segments including: clinical drug development in biopharmaceutical companies and outsourced clinical research.
* For each Marketing Program, specify and recommend innovative marketing program activities and tactics to targeted customer segment.
* Leverage and align content across the different marketing tactics and activities.
* Identify co-marketing partners and co-marketing activities (as appropriate).
* Provide direction for web content.
* Determine appropriate sponsorships, events and scientific meetings.
* Plan major Affymetrix-sponsored customer events and seminars.
* Create advertising campaigns and work with Marcom on development and execution of the campaigns.
* Act as lead for team to implement scientific meetings.
* Work with regional marketing on direct marketing activities.
* Measure program success through tracking and metrics and impact to the business. Report out program activities and success metrics on a quarterly basis.
* Develop relationships with key collaborators, partners, customers and other constituents key for driving program success (both internal and external to company)
* Provide input to strategic marketing on market requirement documents; provide input to product/solution requirement documents. The following are key attributes required for the selection process:

* Minimum of 5 years of marketing experience in life sciences, including the pharmaceutical/biotech industry.
* Over three years of proven experience in developing and executing successful demand generating marketing programs and industrial relations.
* Minimum of a B.S. degree required in molecular biology or other life science field. MBA or other related degree in business, marketing, communications highly desired.
* Working knowledge of unmet needs and applications across the pharmaceutical/biotech drug development pipeline and a strong understanding of the value Affymetrix products and technology bring to the marketplace.
