The Senior Manufacturing Engineer implements and maintains manufacturing methods, techniques, processes, and tooling on fabricated parts, components, subassemblies, and final products. Interfacing as appropriate with Development, Quality, Manufacturing, Purchasing and suppliers, the incumbent coordinates the release of new and enhancements to existing products; participates in design reviews, inspections and MRB processes; develops product structures; provides technical support for internal and external suppliers; participates in the selection of new suppliers and resolution of technical issues; and ensures manufacturing documents are created, updated and in compliance with company standards, ISO and GMP as required.

 

Responsibilities include:

- Designing tooling and fixtures needed to support part machining and final assembly

- Developing and maintaining work instructions, procedures, and cost standards related to the rotor machining operation

- Providing technical leadership in the resolution of all tooling and machining issues

- Developing and overseeing development of CNC programming for 5-Axis Mills

- Providing technical support in validation and approval of outside suppliers

- Will work closely with Advanced Manufacturing Engineers and product development teams in support of new product introductions

- Apply the latest tooling technologies and techniques to improve product quality and reduce product costs.

 

Experience & education:

- Qualified candidate will have a BS degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Tooling Engineering and 5+ years of relevant experience.

- Relevant experience should include proving technical support to a precision metal machining operation.

- CNC programming experience is a must. Strong computer skills including AutoCAD, MASTER CAM and post processors and an understanding of cutting tools and experience in day to day machine shop support are required skills.

- Excellent communication, multi-tasking abilities, and good interpersonal skills are a must.
