To assist us with the growth of our contact lens business, we are seeking a Senior Research Optometrist . Responsibilities include: Perform clinical assessment of visual function using best practices Perform clinical measurement of visual performance including measurement of acuity and contrast sensitivity as a function of illumination level, pupil size and working distance. Plan and conduct clinical studies in order to assess specific aspects of clinical performance of test lens designs, analyze results and prepare technical reports and recommendations Participate and provide clinical leadership in a multidisciplinary project team formed to develop a new product for presbyopia. Perform in-vivo measurements of the retinal image quality using instruments such as aberrometers and optical coherence topography; may conduct cyclopean of eyes Manage clinical research contracts and develop and maintain excellent working relationships with clinical research partners Performs other related duties as assigned by management. Qualified candidates for this position will have: Doctor of Optometry degree (O.D.) required with a miminum of 2 years experience in clinical research highly desirable Must have a license to practice in Florida or be willing to get a Florida license. M.S. in Vision Science or Formal Corneal and Contact Lens residency program preferred Proven knowledge of clinical trial methodology is a strong plus Very good oral and written communication skills Knowledge, understanding and application of principles, concepts and practices of clinical research is a strong plus. Strong organizational, communication and analytical skills Ability to Work efficiently under pressure Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Experience with studies under IRB (Investigative Review Board) / Ethics Committee / or FDA (Food and Drug administration) review, preferred.
