Centocor Research and Development, develops innovative biomedicines. The successful candidate will be leading bioinformatic data analysis function for clinical oncology area. The data analyst provides support to biomarker discovery and qualification, and clinical development, development and validation of prediction model for various treatment effects in clinical trials. The successful candidate will be the bioinformatic representative to the Department of Biomarker & translational research, Clinical Pharmacology Sciences, and clinical R&D. Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Assisting in the development of biomarker statistical analysis plans protocols, study report, and for clinical trials and experimental medicine studies; Developing SOPs for biomarker data analyses methods; Analyzing biomarker and clinical data in the context of various types of translational studies and clinical trials, generate prediction model to evaluate various treatment effects, and provide input for clinical trial design; Assisting in development of campaign diagnosis test with selected clinical programs; Sharing knowledge of bioinformatics through presentations on various data analysis methods and results; Initiating, maintaining and managing internal and/or external collaborative projects; Participating in bioinformatics data analysis software evaluations and software/database usage training; Working with representatives in discovery team to bridge translational studies; this individual will also have significant opportunity to be involved in exploratory PK / PD modeling in association with individuals from clinical pharmacology sciences, etc. The successful candidate will have a PhD degree in Pharmacology, molecular biology, biochemistry (or in an equivalent discipline) with MS (or training) in bioinformatics or biostatisitics and at least 2 years of experience, Or MS in biostatistics with MS (or equivalent) in biology related disciplines with at least 5 years of oncology research experience in the pharmaceutical industry or academia is required. Two to three years prior experience in handling genomic, proteomic, genetic data is a must. Proficiency in statistical software is necessary. Additional experience with SAS, S-PLUS and/or R, and / or PK/PD modeling experiences are highly desirable. Must be self-motivated and capable of working effectively in a team environment and have excellent communication, presentation, and problem solving skills. Demonstrated scientific excellence by a strong publication record and/or evidence of scientific initiative.
