Senior Scientist: Fluidics

POSITION SUMMARY:
We're seeking an applied physicist, experimental biophysicist, or research engineer to support next generation microfluidics development for biological applications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Microfluidic design and implementationFluorescence-based bioassay developmentQuantitative image analysis of droplet streams Execute experiments supporting assay development for RNA/DNA amplification and analysis. Cross-functionally interface with engineering and marketing personnel to support successful product development. Assist with collaborations with academic institutions and industry partners.Generate and analyze scientific results to support publications and regulatory submissions. Maintain laboratory equipment and inventory levels for suppliesEnsure continued safety of laboratory environmentTroubleshoot and calibrate instrumentsServe as a part of product development & launch team Other tasks as reasonably requested.

QUALIFICATIONS:Ph.D. in physics, biophysics, or engineering
In depth experience in:
oMicrofluidics
oFluorescence-based microscopy
oScientific instrumentation Track-record of scientific achievement Demonstrated ability to work in an interdisciplinary team setting The ability to overcome technical challenges in a fast paced, commercial environment Excellent communication and organizational skillsSelf-starter who requires minimal supervision to be productive

Desired:2-5 years of industry experienceKnowledge of chemical thermodynamics and electrokinetic behaviorMust be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident Green Card HolderLocal Candidates Preferred
