Job Description Senior Software Engineer Position Summary: This incumbent will work with the Supply Chain eBusiness Development Team to develop and manage web initiatives and complex technical projects.  Must be able to translate business into effective technical solutions using core eBusiness and web capabilities and other state of the art technologies.  Responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of web systems and services that support the company’s E-Commerce business objectives.  Manages and ensuring ongoing production and technical support, incorporating appropriate security and system benchmarking policies and procedures.Position Responsibilities: Duties & Responsibilities: § Designing and developing eBusiness related applications to meet user requirements § Designing and implementing the components required for complex application features and multiple projects. These activities include defining, architecting, coding, testing, debugging, and deployment to support application systems. § Creating methodologies in development and implementation of eBusiness applications § Producing detailed functional specifications, requirements analysis, design specifications, proposals, statements of work and work estimates. § Preparing estimates and developing project plans § Suggests technical alternatives and makes recommendations to internal customers the most effective and efficient automated approach. § Researching and implementing technological improvements to streamline processes § Managing communication between internal customers and various functional groups § Writes detailed description of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify applications § Works across many levels in the organization to develop specific objective for Web sites and serves as a primary force for implementing the technical strategies necessary to reach Company objectives. Essential Functions: § Analyzes current operational procedures and identifies opportunities for improvement. § Adheres to the IT Software Development Life Cycle. § Writes detailed description of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify applications. § Reviews computer system capabilities, workflows, and scheduling limitations to determine if requested program or program change is possible within existing system. § Prepares workflow charts and diagrams to specify in detail the operations to be performed by equipment and computer programs and operations to be performed. § Works on projects that may involve interfaces across diverse hardware platforms, with multiple programming languages, development tools or data access tools. § Conducts studies pertaining to development of new information systems to meet current and projected needs. § Upgrades system and corrects errors to maintain system as part of the IT Software Development Life Cycle after implementation.Minimum Requirements/Qualifications: § Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field § 3+ years Java Development experience Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria: § 3+ years Java Development experience § 3+ years PL/SQL skills Education: BachelorsJob Level: Experienced
