US-CA-Silicon Valley/Peninsula Status: Full Time, Employee Job Category: Quality Assurance/Safety Reference Code: 704392 Senior Systems Administrator (LIMS) - (Job Number: 0805312) DescriptionMajor Duties and Primary Responsibilities include the Administration of LIMS, Chromatography Data Systems (CDS), and other computerized laboratory systems as implemented. Incumbent will participate in laboratory systems tasks including: planning, validation, implementation, training, and deployment to ensure that the systems are designed, tested, validated and implemented in accordance with all site, corporate, and regulatory requirements. Candidate will also maintain compliance and support for Laboratory applications, by maintaining the systems within the Quality Change Management System. In addition, Candidate will facilitate the interface of the LIMS system with the Chromatography Data System (CDS) and other instruments as needed, as well as, manage and provide on-going support and training for LIMS and CDS to analysts and management. Partner with IT: security compliance, disaster recovery/system availability, analytical data strategy, and change management. Work with vendors to provide system configuration within the functionality of the systems meeting laboratory requirements. Provide support for system maintenance, report design, report generation, and data analysis. Reconfigure electronic data systems to accommodate test and specifications for new and existing products, and maintain system documentation. Perform activities required for configuration, operation, maintenance, validation protocol execution, documentation, and user training for the lab systems. Provide technical support to the lab systems support team(s). Troubleshoot systems as required. Partner with QA to ensure current validation and Part 11 compliance. Provide recommendations and leadership for system enhancements and process improvements This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Biology, Chemistry or a related science. Also required is a minimum of 5 years experience in use and application of computer information technology in area of LIM and other laboratory related systems, and a strong working knowledge of Quality Assurance systems, including validation experience. Travel to domestic locations may be required. Knowledge of programming language(s) with proven accomplishments in area of LIMS or CDS is required. Familiarity with SQL query scripting and Crystal Reporting is highly desirable. Knowledge of cGMPs and validation principles are required. Formal training in software development is desirable, a good working knowledge of scientific programming is mandatory, whether obtained through formal training or work-related experience. Familiarity with Labware LIMS and Waters Empower is highly desirable. Familiarity with EZChrome Analytical Software is a plus.
