Sequencing Lab Manager

Position Title: Sequencing Lab ManagerPosition Purpose:Manage a lab that performs DNA procedures and protocols Essential Duties and Responsibilities:' Ensure that laboratory procedures and protocols are performed in a timely manner such as, making solutions, performing sequencing and PCR reactions, quantitating DNA, and normalizing DNA' Expedite orders by receiving and logging in all orders and writing up sequencing sheets' Make sure that all samples are diluted and primers are organized for plates to be sequenced'Analyze sequencing data, deliver data to customers, and troubleshoot sequencing with customers' Assist Work Flow Coordinator in invoicing and filing' Keep sequencing lab efficient by maintaining inventory and performing preventive care and maintenance of the 3730xl machines' Maintain safe and efficient working environment by complying with all Company and laboratory procedures, rules and regulations' Contributes to the success of the department by working as a team member and demonstrating the flexibility to accomplish a common goalJob Qualifications:'Lab management experience is required' Must have experience with DNA sequencing, PCR and other molecular biology techniques' Minimum of an Associates Degree in a biological science field with previous management experience' Bachelor's Degree in biological science preferred' Ability to interact effectively with co-workers and customers' Detail oriented' Knowledge of Microsoft Office' Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines' Ability to work independently and prioritizeKelly Scientific Resources is a highly specialized and rapidly expanding business unit of global staffing provider, Kelly Services, Inc.
