Job Description Site Leader, Strategic Sourcing Reporting to the Global Director of Strategic Sourcing, and dotted line to the local site operations leader, this position will have responsibility for leading all sourcing initiatives for Lab Equipment Division (LED) within that site.  A key member of the global LED sourcing leadership team.  This role will lead initiatives in quality, delivery, and cost alignment with an overall sourcing strategy of driving down the total cost of ownership for direct materials at their site.  Responsibilities include managing local sourcing members in support of the local sites goals and objectives.  To collect manage, analyze, and report timely and reliable sourcing data.  This role will be a model for proactively prioritizing and managing multiple projects in: quality and delivery improvements, improved savings opportunities, vendor managed inventory, days payable and other tasks as assigned. Key Duties and Responsibilities:  Direct, monitor, review, document, and report on supplier delivery and quality and related improvement activities through hands-on daily involvement with supply base;  Drive disciplined corrective action to assist suppliers in problem solving effectiveness including root cause analysis through implementation of corrective actions; Drive consignment for select suppliers to improve delivery, cash flow, and assure flex in supplier’s ability to grow with plant needs; Work with Suppliers to develop continuous improvement plans and metrics to monitor performance incorporating plant resources as needed in lot acceptance, line-side delivery, and VOMI/VMI/consignment; Interface daily with site leadership on critical supplier issues and corrective actions as necessary; Drive and lead site sourcing Quality Planning (SQP) kick-off meetings for NPI, related supplier design reviews, and act as the interface between the supplier and plant operations; Ensure that AOP savings plan is achieved as assigned at the site level; Drive business ethics and lead site in compliance to sourcing related issues for LCR, contracts and agreements, etc. Participate and drive change with suppliers in support of site: interacting with other departments and assembly personnel on issues related to purchased components; Provide support and lead as needed to ensure that continuous quality and process improvements as well as organizational cost reduction targets with the supply base are met. Responsible for identifying and driving category savings opportunities through data analysis and input from LPG stakeholders and in collaboration with global LPG peers to achieve greater synergy savings. Consolidate supply base utilizing the Thermo Fisher Scientific strategic sourcing process and through other means as appropriate – e.g. LCR sourcing consolidation efforts. In collaboration with department peers: drive, document, and utilize best practice in department work practices e.g. processes, procedures, and documentation that reduces work, streamlines the sourcing process, and improves organizational  throughout and workload balance. Responsible for purchasing maintaining alignment with and in accordance to current LPG and corporate operation standards, practices, and certifications e.g. ISO9000, etc.  Areas of focus are, but not limited to: price increase escalation sign-off policy, regularly scheduled sourcing reviews, request for quotations, eAuctions, binding supplier contracts, and negotiating best terms and conditions for LPG. Drive supplier selection through e-sourcing and conduct e-negotiation events wherever practical. Maintain thorough record trail for sourcing decisions and archival methods for future reference. Track and oversee internal and external contract compliance. Establish payables terms with suppliers in order to achieve corporate cash flow objectives, e.g. NET60 with key suppliers to LPG who control 80% of the direct purchased goods spend. Responsible to track and improve LPG vendor owned and managed inventory (VOMI) objectives of the company and division with year-over-year improvements. Ensure supplier performance through a formal supplier performance evaluation process. Create an effective core strategic sourcing team in Mukarov and assure their success with the other LPG European sites for delivering sourcing savings. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications (Education, Experience and Competencies):  College or University Degree.  Engineering background is preferred. MASTERS IN Business highly desirable. Minimum of 10 - 15 years progressive strategic sourcing experience. Experience in utilizing tools to manage e-Sourcing e-Negotiation events. Must have experience in strategic supplier selection and ongoing supplier management and a formal sourcing process.  Excellent organizational skills. Analytical and project management skills. Ability to follow through on tasks to on-time completion. High degree of initiative as a self-starter. Personal Computer skills required are: MS Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint,  Knowledge of ERP and MRP software applications a plus. Excellent Customer/Supplier relations skills. Excellent interpersonal and change management skills. Cost accounting principles proficiency, e.g. make-buy, etc.. Advanced knowledge of suppliers processes, industry and cost drivers. Sound Negotiating Strategy understanding of competitive forces, supplier strengths and weaknesses, use of a Total Cost of Ownership analysis. Education: BachelorsJob Level: Experienced
