Job ID: NJS08-08 Position Title: Sr. Director, Pain Advocacy & External AffairsWorking Location: NJ, BridgewaterEmployment Status: Full-TimeRequired Experience: 5 yearsRequired Education: Doctorate DegreeTravel Required: YesJob Description:Provides strategic/corporate leadership in the area of pain advocacy, society and government outreach; leads and directs the planning and execution of key advocacy projects and activities supported by King Pharmaceuticals, Inc.Education and Experience:• Advanced degree in medical science field preferred (MD, PhD, or PharmD); • 5+ years pharmaceutical experience in a medical affairs or government affairs role; experience working with pain-related advocacy and/ or government organizations• Demonstrated ability to lead a high performing matrix team, manage and resolve conflicts, and establish strong working relationships with other departments• Vendor management experience desirable• Track record of leadership experience; especially team leadership• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain relationships with key advocacy influencers • Ability to build credible scientific relationships with KOLs in the disease area• Track record of effectively managing risk and complianceEssential Skills:The essential duties of this position include but are not limited to:• Establishes Pain Advocacy and External Affairs as a key support and operational function for the company; increases visibility of King Medical Affairs internally and externally• Establishes self as Key point person for the advocacy function with all priority audiences externally; creates an internal matrix team • Develops and executes strategies to reach priority audiences for the King Pain Franchise including influencers within the advocacy, medical societies, and government sectors• Collaborates effectively with commercial and SO colleagues and external consultants to create and execute actionable advocacy, medical society and government outreach plans• Builds strong relationships with major organizations having interests in pain management, organizing King Pharmaceuticals, Inc. participation and responses• Oversees/supervises external vendors assisting in advocacy activities• Assures appropriate involvement of public affairs• Assures appropriate identification and engagement of KOLs in advocacy projects and activities• Collaborates effectively with all internal stakeholders and external customers• Provides direction and follow-up to ensure compliance with policies and SOPs; exhibits leadership by example.Additional Information: Travel Percentage: 40% Location: Bridgewater, NJ, Status: Full Time, Employee Career Level: Manager (Manager/Supervisor of Staff) Education Level: Doctorate Job ID: PCK425-5403
