Sr IT Accountant Work Location: Not ApplicableShifts: Not ApplicablePositions Available: 1Position Summary Under general direction of the Director – IT Finance, Sourcing & Governance, provides support for IT financial processes including daily accounting duties, variance analysis, budgeting and planning, reporting and all other IT financial responsibilities. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for daily, weekly and monthly accounting duties, including journal entry preparation, account reconciliation, etc. Responsible for general ledger maintenance and month end closing for the IT cost centers. Works closely with the IT sourcing group and other internal customers to ensure the proper coding of invoices between expense and capital according to the SOP-98 standard. Responsible for the reconciliation and validation of invoices on a monthly basis. Responsible for producing periodic reports and upload files for project capitalization.. Participates in the annual planning process, including the IT expense and capital budget process. Prepares analyses and reports on variances. Communicates these variances to necessary the IT management, as necessary Establishes the internal processes and communication methods to monitor IT expenses, both project and non-project related. Works closely with the corporate accounting department to ensure that expenses and fixed assets are recorded promptly and correctly. Develops appropriate policies and procedures to support continual process improvement. Generates ad hoc analysis reports as needed. Performs related duties as assigned. Experience and Education Requirements Requires broad training in fields such as business administration, accountancy, sales, marketing, computer sciences or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four year Bachelor’s Degree program, technical vocational training, or equivalent combination of experience and education. Normally requires a minimum of six (6) years progressively responsible related experience, including at least two (2) years experience at a manager level; previous experience in the information technology field.
