The primary duties of the Sr. Manager/Associate Director, Patient Recruitment & Retention (PER) is to maintain knowledge of PER and find innovative ways to provide his or her expertise to ICON clinical teams from the proposal stage to successful conclusion of a study. Additionally, he or she will provide his/her knowledge of PER to continually improve and implement systems and procedures to develop proactive PER strategies for ICON studies and provide metrics to measure applied strategies effectiveness. As a result, the candidate selected for this exciting new role will have the unique opportunity to work across multiple projects and collaborate with a variety of project teams. Additionally, the successful individual will have a strong influence in developing the direction of the department as well as help define the position itself. The minimum qualifications include a background in medicine or science and 6 years of clinical research experience, including significant background in leading ethical patient enrollment and retention strategies for clinical trials. The successful candidate should possess experience with business development and negotiation activities, working with all levels of staff, management and external vendors. Experience with process development and improvement experience would be ideal. Must be a creative, self-starter who can successfully function in a fast-paced, autonomous work environment. Must have the ability to travel internationally a minimum of 25% in addition to possessing a valid driver’s license.
