We are looking for energetic and enthusiastic senior Java engineer to design, develop and maintain the various aspects of SciTegic’s Enterprise Server and Pipeline Pilot products. This opportunity offers tremendous learning and growth potential for the right candidate as this position will help us build-out our Scientific Business Intelligence capabilities by building novel SOA and Workflow-based tools for scientists and engineers.

 

A B.S. in computer science, engineering or a scientific discipline is required. The qualified candidate will have at least 5 years of experience working in a commercial software environment and 2 years or more in a technical lead capacity. A solid understanding of enterprise architecture and application development including detailed knowledge of application servers, JEE specifications, Linux, server clustering technologies, grid technologies and enterprise security concerns such as LDAP and single sign-on is essential. Demonstrated Java development experience working with JDK 1.5 and later, significant experience on “enterprise” projects making practical use of JEE 1.4, Apache Struts, Struts 2, Spring Framework 2.0 and Tomcat 5.5 or higher is strongly preferred. In-depth experience with SOAP-based Web Services and relevant toolkits such as Axis, Axis2 or CXF is required. The ideal candidate will have worked with Oracle 10g, Business Intelligence packages from Cognos, Hyperion, or Tibco. Experience in an “agile” project life cycle is an important attribute in this role.
