Sr. Project Manager

The 2nd largest biopharma company in the world (market cap) focuses its research and clinical programs on anti-infectives, cardiopulmonary & respiratory.  With 11 marketed products, and 3 drugs in Phase III, they are looking to add a Sr. Project Manager- Construction to their Bay Area team. This site currently has 1,110 employees in a 17-building complex.  Their 3-5 yr. plan expects to see an increase of up to 800 employees in the next year!

 

We are searching for a Sr. Project Manager to oversee the Construction Engineering team.  In this role, your first project would be demolishing a 1-story building and overseeing the construction of a 10-story building to put in its place.

Reporting to the Sr. Director of Engineering and Facilities, and this role will grow into the Eng. Department Head.  You will manage a wide range of projects from small renovations to the construction of new buildings. From the development of project cost estimates to ensuring projects are constructed in accordance with contract requirements and specs, you would work closely with Architects, Engineers, Contractors, suppliers, municipal authorities, and Company personnel.

You will have the overall responsibility for project design, project management and financial management of facility and equipment projects, including implementing equipment and systems with minimum interruption to operations.  In addition, your experience should include designing mechanical systems and water process systems, performing IQ/OQ portions of pharmaceutical projects. and have independently managed projects through completion.

 

A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or an accredited construction-related curriculum (BSCM, BSAE, etc). is must! Project Management / Pharmaceutical Engineering background is required, and a least 8 years of experience leading construction projects.
