With a deep and broad pipeline of potential new medicines, we continue to advance science to serve patients.This position is field-based position for the therapeutic area Nephrology Regional Medical Liaisons (RML) group within Scientific Affairs. It reports to a field based Nephrology Regional Director. This position will focus in the Philadelphia and surrounding areas.Interact with healthcare decision makers to communicate and advance the scientific platform, as aligned with Amgen’s corporate goals and objectives.Communicate complex cutting edge technical information and research concepts to healthcare decision makers, including but not limited to, those of Centers of Education and Research.Provide clinical and economic value information to payers and formulary decision makers.Identify and train members of Amgen’s speakers bureau and ensure they are updated on new data.Facilitate submission of investigator initiated pre-clinical and clinical proposals.Support Amgen sponsored research.Report competitive intelligence.Provide scientific support, consistent with the RML Compliance standard, for sales corporate account, and other matrix colleagues’ facilitated HCP inquiries.Foster relationships between Amgen and fellows in training.Lead and/or participate on committees or project teams that support RML strategies and tactics as delegated by RML leadership.Mentor RMLs as designated by RML leadership.Seek out opportunities to support the RML value proposition and achieve results.Set an example for others to follow by consistently demonstrating Amgen Values and Leadership Attributes.Demonstrate tact and organizational savvy when communicating and interacting with others.Model openness and innovation through words, actions and decisions.Share learning, including entrepreneurial and innovation ideas, with others.Hold self accountable for performance and encourages other to achieve and be accountable for performance.Basic Qualifications:M.D., Pharm.D., and Ph.D. (other doctoral degrees considered)Clinical/Academic:At least seven (7) years of related experience in total, including at least two (2) years of clinical practice experience or lab experience. Post doctoral training (i.e. residencies and/or fellowships) can be apart of this related experiencePreferred Qualifications:Industry medical liaison: Minimum of 2 years of industry/medical liaison experienceResearch:Research experience is desired and activities could include – Experience with writing protocolsRecruitment of patientsSite development and initiation experienceClinical papersNephrology, Cardiology or Diabetes experience desiredAdditional Information: Travel Percentage: 25% Amgen is the leading human therapeutics company in the biotechnology industry.
