The world leader in monoclonal antibody production and technology, Centocor has brought critical biologic therapies to patients suffering from debilitating immune disorders.The successful candidate will be responsible for the characterization of artificial scaffold proteins. He/She will have responsibility for establishing technologies for biophysical characterization including thermal and spectroscopic analyses. In addition, this scientist will be responsible for implementing methods for affinity analysis. Venture scientists will also be expected to continually augment the scientific and technical capabilities of Centyrex and advance the development of scaffold proteins. Applicants with experience in and a proven track record with ribosome display, phage display, directed evolution, protein expression and/or protein engineering will be most desirable. Qualifications Individual must have a Ph.D degree with at least 3 years laboratory experience. The role requires a scientific degree in Protein Biophysics, Biotechnology, Biochemistry or a related field and experience in the following areas: biophysical characterization technologies; spectroscopic analysis of proteins, and affinity analysis. Experience in high-throughput methods for protein characterization and automation is desirable. The successful candidate must have a track record of problem solving, good organization and excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
