Under the general guidance of a director or a more senior staff member, the incumbent will provide support for new drug discovery and formulation expertise for the development of novel veterinary pharmaceutical products to meet business objectives.
• Reporting to a more senior staff member/director from whom assignments are received, conducts formulation research and development activities with only general supervision.
• Incumbent is responsible for determining possible causes of action to be pursued and is expected to plan, schedule and execute activities to effectively resolve issues.
• May assign specific portions of problems to various staff members and to utilize the services of specialists when required.
• Provide scientifically valid technical reports of work performed that may form the basis of regulatory submissions.
• Represent Formulation Development on multi-disciplinary project teams.
• Interacts effectively with external areas e.g. manufacturing, outside contractors and marketing to ensure timely project development.
• May direct several related or independent assignments at one time.
• Operates in compliance with all corporate, divisional and departmental HSE and quality directives.

Ph.D. or MS/MBA degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry or equivalent + 4 yrs experience. Must have excellent communications and an ability to work with diverse teams and manage multiple projects within assigned timelines. Good understanding of drug discovery and/or formulations is necessary. Good problem solving abilities and the ability to effectively work with others is also required.
