Title: (Sr.) Scientist, Biology Research and Development

 

Precision Therapeutics, Inc. assists physicians in selecting effective chemotherapeutics for their cancer patients. PTI is a personalized medicine company located in Pittsburgh PA. We are seeking a (Sr.) Scientist to join the (Biology) Research and Development Team.

 

The Biology R & D Team is responsible for new product and project development as well as on-going process improvements to existing clinical laboratory processes.

 

The successful candidate will have demonstrated a successful track record in:Mammalian cell culture, preferably with experience in primary tissue cultureRapid and multiple publications in Peer-reviewed scientific journals Presenting to Scientific, Medical and Business audiencesLeading technical contributions spanning various development projects, goals and initiativesWorking within and leading multidisciplinary teams to achieve project goals on-time while exceeding expectationsDeveloping and standardizing internal group and group interface proceduresActing as a technical liaison between the R&D team and sales, client services, marketing, and business development teams etc.Statistical methods such as DOE, SPC and/or bioequivalence.

 

Qualifications:

· Education requirements:  

o PhD with a  major focus in a chemical, physical, biological, life or clinical laboratory/medical technology science

o Preferred Post-doctoral work in a field relating to cell biology and mammalian cell culture

· Scientific  Experience: 

o Cell Biology

o Primary tissue culture and cell biology

o Cell-based assays

o Familiarity with automated systems for cellular imaging

o Highly developed experimental design, hypothesis generation, and data analysis skills.

o Pharmaco-genomics background a plus

· Required Skills:  

o Highly motivated and quick learner

o Successful publication history, ability to lead the rapid development and publication of scientific and clinical journal publications

o Highly developed presentation development and communication skills, ability to present effectively to widely varying medical and business audiences

o Able to work independently or in small teams

o Commitment to implementing continuous process improvement programs

o Problem-solver who makes sound decisions

o Highly organized and detail-oriented

o Well-developed and effective communication skills, verbal and written

o Proficient with Microsoft Office Tools

o Overall Attitude, Aptitude, Willingness to Learn and Achievement oriented approach and desire to get the job done right, whatever that takes.
