We are looking for a highly motivated Biostatistician willing to step up to the dynamic challenges presented by a fast growing biomedical company. This person must have a desire to learn the specific skills and processes used in the in-vitro diagnostic (IVD) industry and become an integral part of the expanding utility of diagnostic tests in the care of a broad range of patients. Responsibilities:

- Designs statistical strategies for pre-clinical and clinical trials in conjunction with Clinical Research, Research and Development, and Strategic Marketing

- Assists in identifying those aspects of the experimental design that will measure the effectiveness and utility of the immunoassay products or processes being investigated

- Statistically analyzes and helps prepare summaries of scientific and clinical data for use by regulatory agencies or project teams in order to evaluate the performance of new and improved products

- Writes documented and validated statistical programs for analyses

- Assists in training others in statistical techniques and tools

 

Qualifications:

- Range from MS degree and some extra-curricular experience to PhD and decades of experience (degree in Biostatistics is preferred)

- Experience with clinical studies preferred

- Specific expertise in variability components, multivariate logistic modeling, and sample size calculations is a plus.

- Stays current on changes, innovations, and trends in statistics, medicine and regulatory by networking and studying publications and presentations

- Proficiency with Excel, SAS and S-Plus (or R) required.

- Bayesian analysis experience, including WinBUGS or S-Plus, is a plus.

- Relational database experience, including SQL and Oracle, is a plus.
