ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT CuraScript, a wholly owned subsidiary of Express Scripts, is a leading national provider of specialty pharmacy services. CuraScript offers a broad range of healthcare products and services for individuals with chronic health conditions, such as growth hormone deficiencies, hepatitis C, hemophilia, HIV/AIDS, oncology, multiple sclerosis, and rheumatoid arthritis. CuraScript provides comprehensive patient management services including clinical case management programs, counseling, education, outcomes measurement, social services, and reimbursement services. CuraScript Wholesale Services provides customized supply chain solutions for the biotech industry. RESPONSIBILITIES Works under moderate direction from Pharmacy Manager. Coordinates provision of services/products consistent with state and federal laws and regulations and company’s policies/protocols/standards. Works to ensure financial profitability and adherence to branch budget. At the direction of the Pharmacy Manager, manages and directs all branch office personnel. Assists in coordinating clinical pharmacy patient care and sterile mixing activities. Reviews/monitors prescription medications, provides drug information/patient counseling to patients, compounds sterile admixtures, manages pharmacy inventories, and provides clinical consultations. Documents quality control measures and assists in achievement and maintenance of JCAHO accreditation. Participates in on-call schedules. Takes responsibility and accountability for duties assigned. Works with other members of the branch office team to achieve branch office/Corporate goals.Reviews/monitors all prescription medications to determine the appropriateness of therapy/drug interactions as assigned. Provides drug information, counsels Integrity patients, ensures adherence to state/federal licensure requirements/regulations and maintains required paperwork.Compounds sterile admixtures as needed, performs all calculations for prescriptions, validates admixture competency of pharmacy technicians and ensures that all required compounding documents are completed.Provides consultation and answers inquiries from patients, families, physicians, nurses, clinical case managers, and referral sources regarding drugs and their usage and assists physicians and nursing staff in developing therapeutic drug plans and/or general plans of care for patients.Works with PIC to ensure that the branch pharmacy is in compliance with state/federal licensure requirements/regulations. Under the direction of the PIC, manages regular inventories of Schedule II substances to ensure that levels are appropriate and controls investigational drugs as assigned.
