Staff Scientist - Formulation, New Product Development - (Job Number: 0804230) DescriptionMcNeil Consumer Healthcare Division of McNeil-PPC, Inc. is currently recruiting for a Staff Scientist - Formulation, New Product Development for their facility in Fort Washington, PA. McNeil Consumer Healthcare Division of McNeil-PPC, Inc. markets a broad range of over-the-counter products around the globe. McNeil Consumer Healthcare is most widely recognized for the complete line of TYLENOL acetaminophen products, the leading pain reliever brand in the adult and pediatric categories. The TYLENOL product line consists of hundreds of products across a variety of pain categories. Other brands include IMODIUM A-D anti-diarrheal, which is marketed in more than 60 countries, ST. JOSEPH Adult Regimen Aspirin and MOTRIN IB. The staff scientist will work with Sr. Scientists in Planning, organizing and conducting research experiments to develop solid dosage forms from early development to launch phase of multiple projects. Provide assistance/guidance in collecting and analyzing critical formulation and processing data, drawing conclusions and establishing development plans to complete projects in a timely and compliant manner. Conduct literature searches, intellectual properties and other scientific journals and publications and assist in the formulation and process development. Work in close association with analytical scientists; be able to correlate analytical results with formulation and/or processing outcome. Assist Sr. Scientist in document and notebook review, preparation of technical documents and reports. With the help of Team Leader, manage multiple projects and represent product development in cross-functional teams comprising of Marketing, Regulatory, Operations, Quality, Finance and Project Management. Present updates/technical reviews to R&D staff/management. Demonstrate leadership in team building; possess people skills with a strong focus on interdependent partnering. A BS with 8+ years' of related experience; or MS with 5+ years' experience; or PhD with 3+ years' experience is required. A degree in chemistry, pharmacy, chemical engineering, or related is preferred. An in-depth understanding of formulation and process development and research fundamentals is required. Project management experience is preferred. Experience in pharmaceutical formulation and process development through scale-up is required. Experience in commercialization and technology transfer including contract-manufacturing sites is preferred. The demonstrated ability to be self-motivated, productive and excel in an environment fostering a cooperative team approach to attain business results is required. Good verbal and written communication skills, excellent computer and scientific problem solving skills are required. The ability to drive business solutions in internal and external environments is required. Knowledge of pharmaceutical standard practices, regulations, SOP's and cGMPs is required. The ability to travel approximately 25% both domestically and globally is required.
