The Staff Scientist - Business/Product Development will lead and create new business opportunities based on consumer and scientific insights paired with a strong technology application. The individual should bring in their experience in consumer behavior modification and business sense to create options and validate them. The candidate will have an understanding of psychology including how it pertains to the customer. The Staff Scientist - Business/Product Development will team across different functions including global and virtual teams. The candidate will focus on the importance and have a passion for putting technology into the hands of the consumer to positively impact individual's lives. A minimum of a Master's Degree with 5 or more years of experience is required. A PhD with 4 or more years of experience is preferred. A Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD concentration in Psychology is preferred. Experience in cognitive behavior/therapy is required. Experience in behavior modification tools is preferred. A psychological background with some form of business experience is required. An MBA type of qualification is preferred. Experience utilizing an Internet application or as a hobby understanding the new consumer world (new media) is preferred. Understanding psychology as it pertains to the customer is preferred. A proven track record in leading in start-up or entrepreneurial organizations is preferred. A global and entrepreneurial mindset is required. Bi-lingual is preferred. A strong scientific/technology background with a passion for the consumer is preferred. A minimum of a 1-year of industry supervisory or management experience is required. The ability to be a team player is required. The ability to thrive in uncertainty in order to create business opportunities based on a deep scientific understanding and a network of experts is required. Experience developing proof-of-principal (POP) is preferred. A good connection to universities or colleges in the behavior modification areas is preferred. Proven skills to collaborate across functional and cross-cultural boundaries is preferred. Up to 10% travel (globally/domestically) is required.
