This role is responsible for supporting NIBR-Cambridge discovery research studies by providing in vivo technical research support within our multi-building, multi-discipline, AAALAC International accredited research program. This role will interact with all levels of NIBR scientific management, necessitating tact, and the ability to represent the LAS organization in a clear and professional manner. This position will require a strong ability to self motivate and work across teams successfully.Key Responsibilities: 70% responsible for daily technical research support. 10% responsible for managing assigned research support and liaising regularly with assigned research department personnel. 5% responsible for ensuring compliance with all institutional and regulatory protocols, policies, and guidelines. 5% responsible for identifying emerging technical procedures and proactively evolving the LAS technical service portfolio to meet future needs of the NIBR Cambridge research community. 5% responsible for pursing continuous learning/professional development opportunities and enhancing/expanding skill set. 5% responsible for drafting & periodic review of LAS Technical SOPs. Performs other duties as may be required. Provide consistent and high quality technical research support Proactively meet and exceed customer service expectations Continuously pursue educational and professional development opportunities to enhance and expand relevant skills and knowledge Identify new/emerging techniques/refinements to expand the Research Support service portfolio Identify process inefficiencies and streamline processesQualifications" 2-year degree in Veterinary Sciences or related animal management field, 4-year Science degree, or an equivalent amount of prior experience required. " Thorough understanding and comprehension of operational facts, techniques, nomenclature, equipment, theories, etc. as they relate specifically to job performance and function in the laboratory animal research environment." Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT), AALAS LAT/LATg, and/or similar certification required.Strong communication skills Minimum 3 - 5 years experience in a technical skills tract laboratory animal program required.
