System Development Engineer

 

We are currently seeking an experienced System Development Engineer to join a team focused on the development of BioScale’s proprietary MEMS biosensor technology. The successful candidate will work with a team of engineers and scientists to productize a MEMS-based biosensor platform.

 

Responsibilities:

 Design and prototyping of subsystems and systems, including electronics and software development and testing.Design of biosensor components, including selection of materials, fabrication and joining methods and surface treatments.  Development of new designs to achieve improved performance and/or reduced cost.  Develop unique test fixtures in order to demonstrate bioassays during development.Qualification of vendors for materials as well as finished parts and assemblies.

 

 

Requirements:

 M.S. or B.S. in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or related disciplines and 5 years of commercial experience with biomedical devices or bioinstruments is required.  Industrial application experience as applied to biological sensors and instruments (fluid systems and fluidics, materials and coatings selection and characterization, computer controlled devices, embedded systems, programming and LabView).Experience with development under a quality system.Analytical with proven technical problem solving ability and task execution, practical, and displays initiative.
