Technical Product Consultant

The Technical Product Consultant is an ideal opportunity for those with prior technical work experience in a hospital setting, seeking a career in the medical device industry. This fast paced position offers increasing growth and career advancement. The consultant will be responsible for assisting medical personnel with the use of Edwards Lifesciences and ancillary medical products through telephone troubleshooting. Provide support to medical personnel who are at the point of patient care in areas such as Intensive Care Units, Operating Rooms and Emergency Departments by giving product-specific directions for use and specification information. Offer capital equipment, ancillary products and services for a fee to current customers and complete sales transactions in various Edwards' systems.

Our Requirements:A minimum of two years experience is required for the Technical Product Consultant level. A minimum of five years experience is required for the Technical Product Senior Consultant level. Required experience to include experience in one or more of the following areas: ICU (Intensive Care Unit), CCU, CVOR, Cath Lab, Burn/Trauma Unit, Anesthesia or Cardiovascular Surgical Group. Technical experience with medical products will be considered in lieu of hospital-based experience. Medical product experience as a Nurse, Anesthesia Technician, Biomed Technician, Operating Room Technician, Emergency Room Tech, or in other areas of Critical Care Medicine is preferred. Experience with Swan-Ganz Catheters, DPTs and troubleshooting electronic medical systems a big plus. Some experience selling capital equipment of service contracts is also a plus. An associate's degree in a related medical or technical field is required. A bachelor's degree is preferred. Must be available for on-call duties (by phone and on a rotational basis, approximately one week per month) for after-hour emergencies to respond to customer issues Must be available for travel (approximately 10-15%) to various customer sites to interact with sales reps and medical professionals. Strong analytical skills, exceptional customer focus and the ability to learn independently are essential. The ability to effectively communicate over the phone and in writing are critical.
