Technical Product Manager

Reports directly to the Director of Business Development, Sales and Marketing, and is to develop 454 Corporation’s product development functions.

 

Develops and executes product development plans for commercialization of all products including instrument, software, kits and consumables.  Must develop, monitor and organize teams to effect commercialization of products for use in both in-house services and customer facilities.  Responsibilities include all aspects of product management for product and service development from concept to eventual launch.

 

Requires working closely with early adopter customers in establishing product and services application definitions, expected performance criteria and pricing. 

 

Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills.  The ability to clearly outline and communicate timelines, tasks, product requirements, etc. in both individual and team groups will be critical.

 

Other duties & functions may be assigned to this position as needed.

 

 Knowledge and Abilities

Possess exceptional team leadership and communication skills in order to articulate company’s product and services goal.  Ability to lead and integrate external and internal groups to accomplish these goals is required.

 

Knowledge of all aspects of product development with experience in genomics applications, genetics, instrument and reagent kit development and software integration is required  Minimum Requirements

10 years of biotech product development experience with a M.S. or PhD in molecular biology or related field.  MBA is helpful, but not required.  Rigorous experience in proactively developing teams to accomplish project development goals is a must.  Proven verbal and written communication skills will be required.  Proven record of working well with senior management and coworkers will be key to success.
