Technical Writer

We are seeking a Technical Writer with a high technical aptitude to join our team.  In this role the candidate will be responsible for designing and writing technical documents with our development staff.

 

Responsibilities:

 

·         Collaborate with development staff and department leads to write and publish documentation for software projects, including reference manuals, user guides and technical overviews.

 

·         Timely and accurate delivery of release documentation, technical manuals and online help for all systems.

 

·         Collaborate with development staff and internal users to test and document using current standards.

 

·         Help to identify documentation gaps and spearhead efforts to fill them.

 

·         Edit, clarify and proofread documents written by developers.

 

 

 

Requirements:

 

·         Demonstrate excellence in writing clearly, accurately, concisely and in a manner that is customer focused.

 

·         Excellent written and oral communication skills, self-motivated, detail-oriented and have the ability to work well independently and as part of a team.

 

·         Ability to plan and manage own work by balancing multiple projects requiring coordination across a number of development teams.

 

·         Proven history of bridging the gap between developers and non-technical staff.

 

·         Ability to create and edit workflow and technical diagrams using Visio or PowerPoint.

 

·         A combination of Business Analyst and Technical Writing experience.

 

·         Minimum 3-5 years experience writing technical documents for software projects, software installation and server configuration.

 

·         Bachelor’s degree or higher.  Computer Science or English preferred.

 

·         Knowledge of RoboHelp and/or Borland CaliberRM a plus.
