The person will be responsible for managing sales activities and sales representatives within a defined geography and for specific therapeutic areas. They will be responsible for the development of all employees within the Area by supporting the development of Human Resources Planning(HRP) programs including management development and training to meet current and future business needs. They will provide an environment that encourages the Company's commitment to equal employment opportunity and the value of a diverse work force. Some the key responsibilities will be to lead, direct, train and develop sales staff. The individual will also be accountable for the achievement of area sales objectives and will develop and implement sales/business plans across a cross-functional team. They will help execute sales strategies and implementation of marketing plans and manage sales expenses, insuring return on investment spends. They will also be responsible for monitoring and developing the performance of sales representatives. They will personally develop and manage key customer relationships and conduct high level selling. This is not an exhaustive, comprehensive listing of job functions. There may be other duties to perform as assigned. Successful candidate will possess a minimum of a BA/BS degree and have at least 5 years of industry related sales experience. Previous experience in sales management or in a formal management development position is required. Prior experience in GI, Rheumatology and/or Dermatology is highly preferred. Prior experience in an academic setting is also preferred. Candidate will also have advanced written and oral communication skills as well as strong planning, organization and administration skills. Ideal candidates will also have demonstrated ability to direct, lead, coach, develop, train and recruit staff, interpersonal flexibility to effectively interact with a broad range of personnel and advanced presentation skills and business acumen. They must have the ability to work effectively in a highly unstructured environment with minimal direction from or interface with manager.
