Therapeutic Specialist

Description of Duties and Responsibilites: Establish and develop collaborative relationships with Medical Research Leaders in select medical disciplines to increase awareness of both disease states and therapies.  Attend medical and scientific meetings in therapeutic areas.  Promote awareness of medical knowledge and issues relating to Forests development efforts.  Make presentations to thought leaders. Generate literature searches.  Gather presentation materials.  Attend medical and scientific meetings in therapeutic areas.  Travel may average three days per week to make presentations to thought leaders. 1. Investigator Inititated Trials: Develop protocol designs with TLs for presentation to the RSC and facilitate process of protocol approval and sign-off. Monitor initiation to completion of Investigator Initiated Trials (IITs) in patient populations not studied in phase 3 leading to potential FDA approval of new indications for existing Forest products. Monitor studies and update tracker monthly for patient enrollment, milestone payments, deadlines and presentation (poster)/publication opportunities. Assess final data for abstracts/posters/manuscripts with internal Forest personnel and Principal Investigator for future dissemination into medical community. 2. Presentations: Present credible and balanced scientific data observing OIG promotional boundries at Managed Care and Advisory Board meetings to enhance appropriate use of Forest products. Demonstrate value of Forest products to influential healthcare managers thru clinical and pharmacoeconomic data. Present posters and assist with staffing of MIK at medical symposia. 3. Education: Attend national and international medical meetings to observe and assess presentation skills of prominent academics and gain knowledge of cutting edge research. Attend and participate in preceptorships at prominent academic institutions.4. Business/Strategy: Develop business objectives thru interaction and alignment with internal departments and increase market penetration of Forest products by leveraging medical and scientific interchange with key external customers across product life cycles. Interact with brand teams, medical communication companies and TLs to develop clinical marketing and publication strategies. Play pivotal role in training physicians to become part of Forest Speaker Programs. Incorporate competitor knowledge to shape the direction of brand and clinical strategies consistent with goals of market brand teams and medical affairs. Fulfill critical scientific business needs thru quality long-term scientific engagement with academic TLs, medical associations and managed markets. Position Requirements: PharmD, RPh, PhD or MD with strong clinical background. Previous cardiovascular clinical research experience preferred.  Strong presentation, communication and analytical/interpretation skills required.  Clinical study design knowledge preferred. 30% travel.
