Trade Show Manager, ABDC Work Location: Buffalo Grove, ILShifts: Not ApplicablePositions Available: 1Position Summary Under general direction of the Director, Customer Events (and ultimately to the VPs, Health Systems Marketing & Retail Marketing), the Trade Show Manager is responsible for the strategic planning and execution of all ABDC trade show functions. ABDC relies heavily upon trade shows for product/solution education and demonstrations. This highly visible position requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and is essential in the proper management of ABDC-SG's sensitive and expensive capital equipment. This position is located in Vernon Hills, IL. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for all trade show functions for ABDC, including national shows that feature capital equipment (NHCE, ASHP, NACDS, etc.) and state/regional shows. Maintains a close partnership Director and Manager, Customer Events; collaborates on all national shows and special projects when appropriate; maintains a close partnership with ABC's Regional Trade Show Coordinator; collaborates on state/regional shows on behalf of ABC Technology and Professional Services sales. Manages 100% of trade show functions for ABDC-SG when the Drug Company is not attending, or when the Drug Company is a minor component of the trade show. Responsible for the safe transportation and warehousing of $1M+ in delicate computerized equipment; develops safe shipping policies and procedures. Directs on-site labor in safe handling. Remains up-to-date on the set-up and operation of ABDC-SG equipment and computerized systems, plus general marketplace knowledge. Interacts regularly with Vernon Hills-based R&D, Product Management, Shipping, Installation and QC. Works with Marketing to distribute sales and marketing materials promoting or supporting the event. Directs outside vendors in the following areas: trade associations, hotels, exhibit management, transportation/trucking, union labor, security and audio/visual. Identifies future trends and procedures in trade show management. Initiates special activities during a trade show as needed, such as customer appreciation events, special equipment showings, VIP tours and after-hours demonstrations. Manages all state/regional trade shows for ABDC-SG in support of ABC Technology Solutions Sales. Collaborates with ABC's Regional Trade Show Coordinator. Handles trade show requests, ships signage and marketing materials. On those occasions when the Drug Company is not attending, manages all planning aspects including booth space purchase, hotel, registration, and shipping. Manages all aspects of MedSelect product demonstration units: up to 10 MedSelect, InterChange and SupplySelect units that are continuously shipped across U.S. and Canada; manages the scheduling, shipping logistics, facility receiving, sales interaction, warehousing, and maintenance. Manage the Marketing portion of the warehouse and responsible for setting up/staging and quality controlling the equipment in the warehouse prior to shipping it. Ongoing responsibility for maintaining and overseeing repairs for crates and equipment before, during and after shows. Manages event budgets and reconciles expenses and invoices for each event. Assists with a variety of scheduled and unscheduled projects at any given time. Performs related duties as assigned. Experience and Education Requirements Requires broad experience generally obtained through the completion of a four-year Bachelor's Degree Program or equivalent combination of experience and education; normally requires a minimum of five (5) years' directly related and progressively responsible experience; experience with managing capital equipment in a trade show environment is a requirement; basic knowledge of computer set-up.
