Ibis Biosciences, a subsidiary of Isis Pharmaceuticals Inc., was founded to utilize knowledge and innovation from Isis’ expertise in nucleic acids and biology to create a fundamentally different approach to the identification of infectious microorganisms.

 

Ibis has invented the Ibis T5000 Universal Biosensor System that has the potential to revolutionize the identification of infectious diseases. The Biosensor System combines technologies of mass spectrometry, genomics, and biochemistry into an automated instrument system to rapidly provide detailed identification of microbial organisms in human infectious disease.  Ibis is adding to its software team to support development of a clinical diagnostics system based on this technology.

 

Training Manager (Job Requisition #13)

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 Integrates corporate objectives into the creation of a comprehensive customer training programManages customer and internal training efforts, including organization, planning and execution of training sessions, and builds training team as customer base expandsOversees the development of training materials and attends selected customer training sessions to assess program and provide recommendations on marketing strategyCoordinates training activities, integration, and communication with external partners Assists with other marketing management activities, such as promotion and branding



Requirements

 BS in Molecular Biology or related scientific field required, advanced degree highly preferredFamiliarity with laboratory techniques, including DNA extraction, PCR based assays, and laboratory automation required; knowledge of microbial applications preferredA minimum of two years experience training customers on assays, laboratory automation, and data interpretation Demonstrated success in developing comprehensive customer training programs and materialsAt least two years supervisory experience, and the ability to independently manage a growing team of trainers requiredKnowledge of mass spectrometry applications desirable A desire to assist with Ibis marketing management activitiesAbility to travel both domestically and internationally, occasionally for 10 or more days at a time, and up to 60% of the timeComputer proficiency and data analysis skills required Excellent oral and written communication skillsU.S citizenship is a must due to government contracts constraints.
