Training Program Manager

Experienced Instructional designer with exposure to a regulated environment. Focus is on designing electronic training and instructional material for changing business focus. Assess and define training and performance needs of a client population through systematic instructional design methodologies and working with different Abbott stakeholders. Utilize information from subject matter experts to design course descriptions, online learning models and full-scale training programs that incorporate adult learning principles to deliver training in an effective manner. Evaluate, select, and use a variety of techniques for determining instructional content and strategies. Utilize training authoring and multimedia tools and software. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the training curriculum by creating and implementing measures to track outcomes and ensure alignment to business objectives.* Benchmarking best practices externally and internally to Abbott and making recommendations for continuous improvement. Assist in the development of long-range training and development strategy recognizing emerging roles, changes in technology and other considerations. Ensures training modules developed compliment the long-range training and development strategy and support business needs. Maintains awareness of trends and changes in the market. Expected to function with minimum supervision. It is expected that the employee will determine what actions require management review and input.* Manage cross-functional and cross-Abbott Training Council team to capture needs analysis, develop training plans, pilot training courses and launch training curricula, initially targetting for Abbott Quality System and later expanding to general Quality and Regulatory curricula.* Manage external contractors to assist in development of curricula, initially targeting the Abbott Quality System and Policy Simplification initiative.QualificationsInstructional designer with a minimum of 10 years industry experience and exposure to a regulated environment. Demonstrated instructional design and development skills including needs analysis, design and development methodologies, and evaluation. Experienced in leading cross-functional teams and managing external contractors for developing curricula and piloting courses.Experience with authoring tools used in e-learning and multimedia technologies such as Flash, Trainer, Captivate, SoftSim, and Articulate is desirable. Experience with Access, HTML, JavaScript, XML, and graphic design a plus. Quality Systems, CAPA (Corrective Action Preventative Action) experience & background preferred. Program Manager certified & Six Sigma certified,International Experience and Foreign language is desirable.Detail and technical oriented, strong problem solving project management skills. Possess expert level writing skills, solid communication skills, and be able to work under pressure and within deadline in a constantly changing environment. May be considered at a Grade 18/Sr.Manager or Manager Instructional Design. Education Requirements BA or BS Education/Instructional Design/Instructional Technology/Training & Development or related field required. Advanced degree in Instructional Design/Instructional Technology/Training & Development or related field preferred, or MBA BA or BS Education/ Instructional Design/ Instructional Technology/ Training & Development or related field required.
