Urgent open position for Sourcing Manager in Raritan, NJ
We currently have client need for Sourcing Manager in Titusville/Raritan, NJ on contract for 3-6 months.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Drive the contracting process from initial request through completion into contract-tracking database; includes managing change order process as necessary
· May be responsible for leading cross-functional, multi-operating company teams through a comprehensive sourcing process. May provide advice to business partners and others within the client related to signed agreements.
· Must be able to develop interdependent partnerships with other sourcing and procurement groups, including but not limited to Finance.
· Identify and select appropriate suppliers, arrange for presentations and may need to manage specific ESP relationship(s)
· Demonstrate value contribution through negotiated savings, competitive bidding, cycle times, etc.
· Manage relationships with internal business partners as well as ESPs
· Travel: 10-15%, may include international travel
· Works with client's Law Department as necessary to review, analyze, and advise business partners on contractual terms and conditions in order to reach acceptable language.
· Lead/conduct contract negotiations on terms and conditions of high-risk, complex, and potentially long-term agreements, and escalate specific points of contention on legal issues to appropriate legal staff.
DECISION-MAKING AND PROBLEM-SOLVING:
· Able to work independently as well as in a team environment
· Exercises decisions based on analysis of supplier proposals and in partnership with internal business customers
· Looks for creative ways to avoid/solve problems in order to manage the supplier relationship and not compromise any on-going study
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
· Would report to Director or regional Director of Key Category area (i.e., regional Director of Clinical Services, Director of R&D Services, or Director of IT Sourcing)
· Other Relationships: daily supplier and business partner interactions, Legal, Finance, Accounting as well as internal project teams (CDTs included) on an as needed basis
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS/INTERFACES:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelor degree preferred, although appropriate experience could count toward degree requirement; Major in a life science or business preferred. Depending upon level, would prefer advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, JD, MBA)
· Demonstrated negotiating experience, 3-5 years minimum
· Depending upon level, would prefer anywhere from 5-10 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry; drug development and procurement experience a plus; (experience to be specifically appropriate – i.e., clinical trial experience for a clinical role, preclinical experience for a preclinical role)
· Experience as a user or provider of outsourced services
· Knowledge of pharmaceutical R&D process, GLPs, GMPs or GCPs desirable
· For international candidates, a fluency in English (written and verbal) is required.
