  APPLICATION ANALYST

The Information Technology department of Emmis Communications Corporate office is seeking to hire an Application Analyst.  This person will review, analyze, and modify applications that support corporate level initiatives.  Will meet with users to identify current operating procedures, changing business requirements and to clarify application objectives. Required to write user manuals for installed applications.  Will participate on project teams for new corporate level applications.

  JOB REQUIREMENTS: Understanding of enterprise applications and web based technologies and basic SDLC concepts Ability to work in a team environment Understanding of project management principles Experience designing and writing reports Ability to clearly communicate with end-users, vendors and management Ability to remotely troubleshoot end-user issues Ability to document application design and functionality Successful candidate must be very detailed oriented Some travel required Bachelor degree required. Masters level degree preferred Ability to program in any of the following is a plus: C++, Java, COBOL, RPG, and Visual Basic. Understanding any two of the following technologies - IBM AS/400, DB2, MS Access, and MS SQL Experience with HRIS or corporate financial systems is a plus.

EDUCATION:  Bachelor/Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field of study.
