CITY: New York STATE: New YorkCOUNTRY: USAEssential Functions (Responsibilities): Maintains MSNBC's vast long-form program inventory. Monitors news events for any developments involving show subjects that would require updating. Researches show scripts and show notes of all scheduled long-form programs, including Headliners and Legends, MSNBC Investigates, Lockup and specials. Responsible for fact-checking, writing update copy, arranging narration-tracking and studio sessions with host and supervising the editing of show fixes. Some basic desktop editing required. Performs background research and gathering of tape and archival materials for the production of new documentaries and specials. Occasional assignments to include field producing, segment producing and work on breaking news. Coordinates long-form program scheduling and tracks changes with Research and Scheduling Department. Works with NBC News Legal and Standards departments, informing them of Long-form lineup air schedule and coordinating reviews.Qualifications/Requirements:Basic Qualifications: At least 3 years of research, production, and long form experience required. Self-starter, eager to work on a small team, performing wide range of functions in a boundary-less way.
