NEW MEDIA ASSOCIATE PRODUCER

NEW MEDIA DEPARTMENT

TEMPORARY, FULL-TIME, EXEMPT (6 MONTH ASSIGNMENT)



 

JOB SUMMARY

This position will manage and maintain KCET.org and "Sid the Science Kid" websites.  Responsibilities include research, content coordination, image/audio/video production, HTML and meeting coordination.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB



 

KCET.orgResearch & develop daily program content for KCET.org.Research & develop monthly web-only content. Coordinate with Membership, Communications, Programming and Development (fundraising) departments as needed to keep content on the website up-to-date.Handle image preparation, audio & video editing and encoding.Basic HTML coding on KCET.org.Perform other duties as assigned.

 

"Sid the Science Kid"Coordinate with the Project Director, website Producers, web developers and show production team to meet content and publishing deadlines for the site.Help manage project deadlines and deliverables.Make updates to the site as needed through the CMS.Coordinate weekly calls with the Project Director, website Producers, web developers and show production team and take notes.Perform other duties as assigned.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTSBachelor of Arts or Science in Journalism, Arts, Humanities, Communications, Computer Science, Media Studies or related fields (or equivalent experience).  Minimum of 2 years experience in web and/or multimedia production. Excellent writing, editing and research skills.Proficient in office applications available for the PC and MAC, video editing, photo scanning and encoding equipment.Intermediate knowledge of Photoshop, HTML, streaming encoding.Basic knowledge of ImageReady, Digital Video editing.Must have excellent communication skills both verbal and written.Excellent organizational skills.Must be self-directed and work with a minimum amount of supervision.
