Audio Visual Project Specialist – Business Meetings and Events

FMP is currently seeking an Audio Visual Project Specialist with strong production, organization, customer service and vendor management skills to oversee and direct the planning, delivery and implementation of audio visual production services for meetings and events. The candidate will work in partnership with Sales, Producers, Project Managers and Account Executives to define the project scope, plan resources, devise schedules, manage the client and execute delivery. Audio-visual support can range from several breakout rooms to large keynotes and general sessions.

Overall Position Function

 Execute event plan and scheduleCoordinate the delivery and operation of audio visual equipment Create room layouts Manage manpower and timelinesManage projection, sound, staging and other multimediaInterface with clients.

Responsibilities:

 

Meet with FMP Project Manager and with client representatives to understand needs, determine specifications and coordinate planning.

 

Manage events’ financial, manpower, travel, vendor, and equipment budgets and details.

 

Work with Project Managers and Account Executives to set up, operate, and break down rooms, audio, video, projection, computer and lighting equipment.

 

On site floor management that includes overseeing of service quality, assignment of tasks, labor needs and scheduling.

 

Lead team in proper security, storage, transportation, and maintenance of equipment.

 

Participate in physical inventory count processes as requested.

 

Work with Project Managers, AV Technicians and various vendors to establish coordinated communications for the management of events.

 

Utilize client input, internal guidance and other resources to plan room setups, specify audio/visual requirements, determine manpower and diagram room layouts.

 

Manage the execution of the specifications utilizing internal and external resources depending on schedules and budget considerations.

 

Develop proficiency in all company computer systems and software programs, including room diagram software.



Travel 30-60 days a year to national and international meeting and event locations.

 

 

Required Experience and Knowledge

 

Minimum of 5 years experience in audio-visual project management for large corporate business meetings and events. This includes managing equipment and manpower resources for projection, video, sound, lighting and staging.

 

Strong customer service and leadership skills.

 

3+ years experience designing event room layout to accommodate event requirements

 

Familiarity with MS Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. We also prefer that you have a working knowledge of some form or room diagram software (i.e. Room Viewer)

 

Strong knowledge of meeting and event AV equipment from a technical level.

Compensation

 

Compensation plan includes a competitive salary and health benefits as well as a bonus plan. FMP contributes to each employee’s 401K plan.

 

Relocation is not budgeted for this position.
