BN Programming Finance Manager

CITY: Englewood Cliffs, NJ STATE: New JerseyCOUNTRY: USAEssential Functions (Responsibilities):P&L budget development and management: create detailed short range (SII - 1 yr) and a long range (S1 - 3 yr) strategic forecasts, Operating Plan, and quarterly estimates for $74M cost P&LManage quarterly close process for BN programming departments, including accruals, variance analysis and related account reconciliationsBuild relationships with operators to proactively identify risks and opportunities to the P&LServe as Financial Lead for ScheduAll implementation and cost reporting, working closely with SatOps operators and managementCoordinate and facilitate budget development, financial monitoring, and post-mortem review, for standalone BN Special projects & eventsAssist CNBC cross-functional teams on special projects and initiatives by serving as functional liaisonDevelop/implement key business analytics and drive process improvementsSupport Director with various ad hoc analysis and pacing requestsInfluence and support systems integration improving availability and visibility of Financial information and metrics (i.e. ScheduAll, SAP)Partner with NBCUNI controllership to ensure adherence to company policies and proceduresActive management of the following cost drivers-Talent and Contributor contracts-Remote Production, Broadcast, & Telecommunication vendors-Outside service providers-Overhead costs such as black car services and wardrobeQualifications/Requirements:Basic Qualifications:Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldMinimum of three (3) years accounting & finance experienceProficiency with MS Office programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)Proficiency with Accounting software programs Eligibility Requirements:Interested candidates must submit a resume/CV online to be considered (note job#:813972). Willingness to travel and work overtime, and on weekends with short notice.Must be willing to work in Englewood Cliffs, NJMust be willing to take drug test and submit to a background investigation.Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.Desired:Essential Responsibilities (Cont...):Cost management involves the following:-Ensuring accurate coding and approval of programming costs (i.e. face approved invoices, special coding of card transactions) -Working closely with operators to ensure accurate vendor billing-Liaising with Sourcing/Legal/HR to maintain proper client/vendor relationships-Maintaining various cost tracking spreadsheets-Monthly Review of Purchasing and T&L card activity -Maintenance of wardrobe P-Card with proper monthly reconciliation and tracking of imputed income-Monitoring of vendor payments -Coordinating with CNBC A/P resource for invoice processing, client/vendor set-up and payment terms compliance-Timely research of & response to vendor questions-Building ad hoc reports and payment schedules-Identifying & maintaining related recurring paymentsDesired:SAP & PeopleSoft a plus Highly organized and detail orientedStrong analytical skillsExceptional interpersonal & teamwork skills, exhibiting proven ability to work collaboratively, with individuals at all levels, and across all functional groups Proactive thinker / self-starterAbility to multi-task and meet tight deadlinesHigh energy level with ability to take initiativeGeneral:The BN Programming Finance Manager will be responsible for supporting the financial management of CNBC Business News Live Programming Editorial Operations and BN Specials such as Olympics & Election coverage.
