SUMMARY
Assists in the administration of various employee benefit plans such as life, health, dental, and disability insurances, pension plans; and coordinates and conducts training programs for employees by performing the following duties
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:Distributes information on and explains benefits programs such as retirement, pension, health, life, and disability plans to employees and dependents.Receives and process insurance documents. Tracks and follows up on missing information.
nsures insurance information is correctly input through computer-based, as well as, web-based systems.Investigates and resolves questions regarding delivery and payment for services by contacting health care professionals and other service providers, benefit plan providers, and employees.Maintains files of enrollment forms and other documentation.Sends enrollment information and payment to benefit plan providers and other plan administrators.Processes billing as it relates to benefit plans.Adheres to all company policies and procedures and fairly administrates them.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; with minimum of 3 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
COMPUTER SKILLSknowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet softwarePayroll systemsInternet softwareHuman Resource systems Database software.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS Excellent communication skills with external and internal customers.Must be committed to providing exceptional customer service (both external and internal) at all times.Qualified applicants MUST have a strong benefits background.
