Perform equipment repair anddocumentation, project management, and engineering staff guidance for ahigh-end production, live event, conferencing and audio visual environment.



 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·Provide technical expertise in the field of multimediasystems encompassing all related disciplines such as operational systemsupport, troubleshooting, monitoring, documentation and infrastructurearchitecture

·Supervise and/or undertake the repair of equipment as neededin order to keep systems functional and documenting quality standards,system anomalies, operational procedures, reference materials, and project work

·Coordinate and manage repairs of equipment at the component levelwith outside service personnel and/or authorized manufacturer service centers

·Manage and maintain database of equipment assets and inventory inmanaged spaces

·Recommend alternatives to infrastructure including replacement ofsystems and equipment to meet agreed service levels

·Maintain system documentation and service manuals related to anduseful for installation work, and diagnostic reference for current repairs andfuture upgrades

·Create certain key signal flow diagrams in standard softwarepackages such as CAD, Visio, etc.

·Serve as Chief Engineer during large scale staging events and forbroadcast level live news feeds to other organizations from studios

·Interactvery often with other technical staff such as Electrical Contractors, NetworkIntegration and cabling staff and contractors and Videoconferencing technicians

·Responsiblefor working with the Production Manager to manage the Media Systems Technicalstaff responsible for the maintenance and support of the facility and itsremote sites. This includes budgeting and tracking of budgets and as-neededtraining of the Media Systems staff

·Providetechnical solutions throughout the network and complete other projects asassigned

 REQUIREMENTS

·In-depth“hands-on” knowledge of audio and video production tools such as cameras,mixers, monitors, editing systems, etc. and able to correctly setup anddiagnose problems with such equipment

·In-depthknowledge of legacy and state-of-the industry multimedia systems and equipment

·Familiarwith AV equipment and control systems, including AMX and Crestron

·Proficientunderstanding of Videoconferencing, LAN/WAN hardware and software forswitches, hubs, routers, bridges, modems, multiplexors, point-to-point datacircuits via copper and fiber for audio and video

·Stronganalytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills related tovideoconferencing, connectivity and electronics equipment required.

·Familiarin full setup, configuration and troubleshooting to the network level onTandberg, Polycom  and similar videoconferencing systems.

·Goodwriting and engineering documentations skills with proficiency in MicrosoftOffice/Project with some related experience with CAD programs and databasessuch as Access and/or SQL

·Demonstratedproject and budget management; personnel supervisory skills and abilities

·Candidatemust be a proactive leader and a team player

·Anoverall understanding of the live program production process is necessary and astrong sense of urgency in solving customer requests to ensure timelyresolution is critical; Calm under pressure

·Stronginterpersonal skills and ability to supervise small teams.  Sensitivityand tact in dealing with staff/partners/clients at different levels in a verydiverse environment

·Candidatemust have a commitment to excellence and to ongoing education in broadcastengineering and IT and to the mastery of his or her craft 

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

·Minimum8+ years broadcast or telecommunications experience; large market/facility

·Bachelor’sdegree or higher in Electronic Engineering or related field

·Technicalschool training with equivalent experience also considered

·BsEe and Infocomm CTS certification preferred. CVEcertification a plus.
