Summary Description:

Software Engineer (Embedded Systems)
Dolby professional products for broadcast and cinema industries are developed on custom hardware based on a variety of DSPs and Microcontrollers. Our software engineers create embedded software for this custom hardware, which includes developing Linux device drivers, bringing up Linux on new hardware platforms, developing boot loaders, designing real-time software, developing C++-based embedded software and more. We are looking for energetic candidates with fresh ideas to develop new products and technologies.


Essential Job Functions:
• Contributes to the development of real-time, complex real-time embedded system embedded software for new and existing broadcast products.
• Performs quality work against technical and schedule challenges, follows strong software design and process principles, interfaces with product management, and coordinates efforts with those of other software engineers.
• Designs, develops, documents, and tests complex real-time embedded system software for external interfaces and interprocessor communications.

Requirements:
• C programming
• Good understanding of Operating Systems and real time programming concepts
• Familiarity with embedded hardware architecture
• Object Oriented Programming using C++ is a plus
• BS degree with two years professional experience; MS degree in electrical engineering, or computer science.
• One to three years professional experience or significant college work in embedded system software development.
