IT Business Analyst / 7516

Position Description:

Position Summary:The Business Analyst I will serve as an interface between users and the development team(s) in understanding the key business processes, business data and functional requirements. This person will play a key role in the application support activities. Facilitate, track, coordinate and communicate status and enhancement requests, between the users and the IT staff. Will also develop requirements and design solutions to increase performance efficiency for the Discovery Education business group. Responsibilities:1. Collaborate with subject matter experts, users, and development staff2. Assist with continuous process improvement effort. 3. Translates business problems and goals into solutions 4. Perform needs-assessment and translation of needs into business requirements. 5. Assist with user acceptance test, planning, coordination, and execution6. Accomplish specific tasks and/or meet specific measurable goals within a reasonable timeframe Requirements: * Understanding of business analysis methodologies and software development methodologies.* Good understanding of core Quality Assurance methodologies* Strong interpersonal skills, comfortable working with large span of people * Strong communication skills verbal, written and listening skills* Strong analytical skills* Expertise in MS office, MS Project and other PC software* Proficient in developing requirements definition, functional specifications, test scripts and test plans* BS or MS in Information Technology or related fields with 5+ years experience in systems/and/or business analysis field* Development experience including computer programming and database design a plus* Must have the legal right to work in the United States
