JAVA / J2EE Developer
Location: New York, NY 10001 Employment Type: Full Time, Temporary/Contract/Project, Employee Expected Duration: 2+ to 5 Years Pay Rate: 50.00 - 55.00 USD /hour Reference Code: NYJ98078 The Java Developer will be responsible for analysis, design, implementation, testing and maintenance of internal and external web-based applications. Primary areas of responsibility include customer self-service applications and web-based interfaces into our subscriber management system for use by customer care agents. The Java Developer will be expected to participate in all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle. Position responsibilities:Ø Full system life cycle development of customer self-service and customer care center applications.Ø Work with business analysts to develop detailed technical specifications based on functional user requirements.Ø Develop system and object models to support proposed architecture.Ø Develop conceptual, logical and physical data models. Develop SQL queries and stored procedures for efficient data access.Ø Contribute to the development and execution of unit, system, integration, stress and user acceptance testing.Ø Address performance issues in an effort to ensure that all applications are highly scalable and can support high volumes of traffic.Ø Anticipate and resolve technical problems and solve difficult challenges with only occasional need for technical assistance from others. Requirements:Ø 6+ years Java-J2EE development experience.Ø 2+ years MVC Framework experience: Struts, JSF or similar.Ø Strong skills in SQL and common database technologies (Oracle, SQLServer)Ø XML, XML parsing/processing Ø HTML, JavaScript, strong understanding of browser compatibility issues.Ø Candidate must have strong structured methodology experience. Preferred Skills:Ø Strong OO design skillsØ Experience configuring and administering application servers. Weblogic 8.1 preferred.Ø Messaging system experience with JMSØ Web Services experience.Ø Basic UNIX experience.Ø JMXØ Apache web serverØ AJAXØ Perl scriptingØ Source code control systems: CVS, VSSØ Build processes and Ant.Ø Familiarity with current Java IDE environmentsØ User interface design and rapid prototyping experienceØ Good communication skillsØ Ability to resolve issues on a timely basisØ Ability to work independentlyØ Experience with large scale, high volume web-based applications.
