Lifestyle Content Manager
CITY: New York STATE: New YorkCOUNTRY: USAEssential Functions (Responsibilities):The Lifestyle Content Manager will manage the City Scene, Living and other non-news verticals of websites overseen by the NBC Local Integrated Media division. This position is responsible for writing, editing and coordinating distribution of content across these verticals. The position requires working with peers within LIM, internal NBC partners, third party content and technical partners, as well as web staff at local stations in order to deliver compelling content in a timely manner. Specifically: Work with National Features Editor to manage and execute editorial initiatives for the City Scene and Living verticals, as well as ongoing content development across other features verticals in the LIM network of websites. Major lifestyle focus includes city sections with an ability to engage an area around local entertainment, buzz, and events with knowledge of 3rd party content sources and more. Major living focus includes home and family. Develop content in line with editorial voice and calendar, including successfully managing content partner relationships. Handle workflow of content, from ingest to copy-editing to style-guide and journalistic standards adherence to distribution Work with multi-media and promotions team on effectively placing, promoting, and associating multiple content types (text, image, video) for increased traffic opportunities. Work directly with promotions, sales, reporting and technical teams to monitor and manage content verticals, ensuring consistent classification of content, reportability, and successful ongoing delivery of content. Work directly with station web teams to analyze content workflows and develop recommendations for more efficient and effective processes, as well as supporting the gathering, editing and publishing of local content, particularly in breaking-news situations. Provide input into potential content partners, from bloggers to media companies.Qualifications/Requirements:Basic Qualifications: Minimum two years experience in online content. Attention to detail and ability to analyze data in order to make suggestions for operational and editorial enhancements. Outstanding interpersonal and communications (oral and written) skills. Ability to perform in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, to shift priorities quickly among multiple projects, and to be committed to execute deliverables on short notice. Experience in a large media company.
