Multimedia Content Manager
CITY: New York STATE: New YorkCOUNTRY: USAEssential Functions (Responsibilities): Works with NBC LIM Sr Director of Online Content, Internet Broadcasting (IB), digital teams at NBC's 10 O&O web sites and select third-party providers to facilitate the creation, acquisition, editing, distribution and promotion of slideshows, special interactive packages, graphics, photos and videos. The content spans multiple categories, including but not limited to News, Entertainment, Health, Sports, Technology, Seasonal Specials, Politics, Green as well as station and network promotions. In addition to multimedia production, plays a direct and active role in working with station-based Creative Services Directors and defining and socializing a strong promotional styleguide for the 10 sites and their content. Works directly with station web teams to analyze current technical and content workflows and develop recommendations for more efficient and effective processes. Develop audience acquisition and engagement strategy and operational plan to meet its objectives. Develop relationships with other news and content providers to help promote and distribute NBC content beyond our own network of sites. As necessary, works with local stations to support the production and publishing of local content, particularly in special-event and breaking-news situations. Works directly with promotions, sales, reporting and technical teams to monitor and manage the successful ongoing delivery of content. Manages a team of two additional Multimedia and Promotions Producers who will be responsible for editing and publishing content - particularly slideshows - across all 10 O&O sites. Develops and maintains a strong working connection with digital and content teams at all 10 stations, to ensure communication, coordination and accountability for cross-site initiatives.Qualifications/Requirements:Basic Qualifications: Minimum four years experience working in online content development and/or photo editing. Experience with traditional-media news-gathering and content operations, particularly in regard to video and graphics. Strong knowledge of emerging tools and trends in producing and delivering graphics and multimedia packages, and an alertness to marketing and promotional trends. A solid base of contacts throughout industry, with proven ability to identify and recruit talent. Attention to detail and ability to parse statistical research and analysis and make operational and editorial adjustments accordingly. A current expertise in new content-delivery platforms and technologies. An understanding of basic tools and practices in marketing and promotion. Working knowledge of digital media technology, particularly content-management tools. Outstanding interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills. Ability to gather direction, requirements and feedback from diverse sources, including senior executives, and consolidate them into clear, operational plans. Ability to perform in fast-paced environments, to shift priorities quickly among multiple projects and to do what is necessary to "get it done" on short notice. Working experience in a television newsroom, and within a large media company.
