We are looking for a Principal Engineer to join our Technology department in Columbia, MD.

 

Overview:

Arbitron, Inc. is a media research company that employs electronic measurement of audiences.  The primary electronic products are high-speed video/audio equipment and boards, as well as, hand-held devices.  We are looking for a Principal Engineer to help develop the next generation of products.

 

Responsibilities:

This Principal Engineer will generate the technical specifications, perform risk analysis, decompose specifications to low level modular specifications for efficient H/W and S/W development, perform power, timing and signal integrity analysis, design the digital circuits, create the schematics, oversee the PCB layout, present and defend the PDR/FDR, develop the test plan, validate, verify, and trouble-shoot the circuits, support software engineers, generate the supporting technical documentation, and assist other engineers as required. 

10 Years of Experience:designing with FPGA's using VHDL, interfacing microprocessors to peripherals, troubleshooting equipment using a logic analyzer, high-speed scope, network analyzer, video/audio generators and analyzers creating schematics, and  implementing high speed digital design practices

Additional Experience Desired:Altera Quartus ModelSim OrCAD Capture Allegro Viewer MPEG, video and audio equipment design

Other Skills Required:Strong oral and written communication skills. Must be a team player who works well in a team environment.
