Our innovations have led to Emmy® Awards and hundreds of filings for US patents as we introduce new must-have technologies into the TV viewing experience.  We make a commitment to challenge, inspire and reward the people who make the DIRECTV vision come to life -  Come join our winning team! DIRECTV is in search of a Program Preparation Technician for our Los Angeles Broadcast Center.  The ideal candidate will  be responsible for the following:Follow established procedures, review and edit audio, video, and closed caption signals of media tapes to ensure transmission of cleanest and clearest picture and sound in conformance with company quality standards. Identifies tape impairment problems and coordinates repair. Loop general information or promotional material on tapes and clones tapes to provide back-up resources. Perform data entry and maintains database systems for control. Perform in-house mastering of media tapes, interstitial material, and EDL lists and reviews and edits audio, video, and closed caption signals for adherence to company quality standards. Identify suspected tape impairments and assists supervisor in performing necessary repairs or tape replacement. Loop interstitial material on to tapes, such as general information or promotions, in spots designated by editors. Perform data entry and maintains such databases as the library management system, media manager, and shipping log to control movement and processing of tapes and ensure quality broadcasting. Prepare promotional, PPV and original content for air. Checks for quality, proper time codes, and video and audio signals, and ensures that there are no digital hits or channel condition distortion. Produce multi-format dubs from in-house masters to various internal clients as requested.Experience performing a wide range of editing, troubleshooting, and processing tasks to build in high quality to media tapes before broadcast required. In-depth knowledge of databases and systems that control quality and processing and be able to follow written and verbal instructions. Strong interpersonal relationship skills and the ability to work closely with others in a team environment.  2 years of college or technical school and 1-2 years of experience within the broadcast industry is required. Must have the ability to lift and move equipment up to 25 pounds.
