Project Manager, Digital Media Services
CITY: Universal City STATE: CaliforniaCOUNTRY: USAEssential Functions (Responsibilities):Be a part of the IT team to manage, lead and maintain company wide Digital Media Services, supporting areas of TV, Cable and Film Production, Publicity, TV Distribution, Marketing and Entertainment. Digital Media Services is part of the Digital Content & Studio Systems group.Coordinate the digital requirements of film groups for NBCU, including working with film post productions office and Post facilities around the world. Gather requirements for streaming request for all areas of NBCU, Cable, TV, Film, Promos.Create digital media solutions to meet the needs of production.Mobilize groups in operations to facilitate digital solutions requirements. Facilitate synergies across NBCU digital media groups as well as across businesses. Facilitate the digital transfer requirements of NBCU business groups to meet specific needs.Manage internal client relationship as single point of contact for all Digital Media IT needs Based on requirements, build support plan for IT specific technologies to include desktop software, PC hardware, internet connectivity, custom application support, remote access requirements, terminal server, file transfer, file serving and storage, streaming, new software and hardware procurement and/or development, network protocols, security, and firewall rules, and information security.Map deployment and support processes to field operation requirements using Six Sigma tools and methods; digitizing and automating video workflows & digital asset management throughout the organizationTurn processes maps into use cases and scenarios and write standard operating procedures in order to create repeatable and reproducible Digital Media solutions;Qualifications/Requirements:Minimum 3 years of IT experienceManaged projects longer than 3 monthsWorked as part of a team and as an individual contributorWorked in companies larger than 100 peopleMinimum 5 years exposure to business customersEligibility Requirements:Interested candidates must submit a resume/CV through nbcunicareers.com to be considered (note job#: 811653). Willingness to travel and work overtime, and on weekends with short notice.Must be willing to work at the station in Universal City, CA.Must be willing to take drug test and submit to a background investigation.Must be 18 years or older.Desired:Experience/familiarity with digital media concepts: encoding, transcoding, streaming, rights management, watermarking, media formats, media transfer technologies, etc. Familiarity with Digital Asset Management systems and conceptsEntertainment industry experience a plusStrong analytical skills with innovative approaches to solving complex problems.Ability to conduct troubleshooting for complex application issues, providing NBC Universal with root cause analysis, proposed solutions and workarounds.Proven ability to work with an IT organization that utilizes a matrix structure. Requires the ability to operate across functions and work with resources external to the Project Team.Ability to interface effectively between business and IT teamsExcellent written and verbal communication skills a must with emphasis on special attention to detail.Proven expertise developing and maintaining system documentation, conducting user training and providing production on-call support.Ability to work independently with minimum supervision as part of a dynamic IT team.Proven ability to work under aggressive deadlines and meet project commitments.Familiarity with RUP software development methodology, data modeling and use case creation concepts.
